چکیده
Research on the utility of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data in many diverse applications has seen great activity in the past decade. In particular, two powerful SAR techniques emerged during this time. Polarimetric SARS were frost demonstrated during the 1980’s and is described by van Zyl et al. [1] and Zebker et al. [2]. Since then polarimetric SAR data have been applied to most disciplines of Earth Science. A recent summary of these investigations can be found in [3]. The second powerful SAR technique that has received much attention lately is SAR interferometry. While fust published by Graham [4] in the 1970’s, interest in this technique has steadily increased since the demonstration of SAR interferometry using digital processing [5]. For a summary of the different applications of SAR interferomeq, please see [6].

The Data Calibration of the AIRSAR PacRim II Mission
In this paper, we present the calibration results of the NASA/JPL Airborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (AIRSAR) for the Pacific Rim II mission. We also demonstrate the key elements of the calibration techniques for both polarimetric SAR (POLSAR) and cross-track interferometric SAR (TOPSAR) processed with the AIRSAR Integrated Processor.

The algorithms and implementation of an integrated SAR processor designed to process multi-frequency SAR data from either polarimetric, interferometric or mixed mode (a combination of polarimetric and interferometric modes) SAR systems is described. The processor is designed to automatically produce co-registered multi-frequency images regardless of the data collection mode at different frequen...
متن کاملImproved Processing of AIRSAR Data Based on the GeoSAR Processor
AIRSAR is a versatile multi-mode and multi-frequency radar. The system is able to collect fully polarimetric data at three frequencies, C, L and P-band, and interferometric data, C and L band, in both cross track and along track configurations. Data may be collected using a variety of bandwidths from 20-80 MHz using either 8-bit signal quantization or using a Block Floating Point Quantized mode...
متن کاملPolarimetric and Interferometric SAR Calibration Verification Methods
It is necessary to calibrate SAR data in order to use the data for science applications. When both polarimetric and interferometric data are collected simultaneously, these SAR data can be used for cross-calibration and verification. The frequency of polarimetric and interferometric data does not have to be the same for this purpose. For example, the NASA/JPL AIRSAR system can acquire C-band in...
متن کاملPolarimetric Interferomtry
SAR polarimetry makes use of the polarization dependent scattering response of each pixel within the imaged area. The polarimetric response is highly sensitive to the scattering mechanism of a pixel. SAR interferometry is sensitive to the location of a pixel and its scattering geometry. The location of a pixel can be measured by the phase difference between two coherent SAR images using SAR int...
